The Accounting Department for the Clerk of the District Court's office handles the return of any bonds posted to a case in our court.  Bonds can only be returned by an order from a Judge in the Douglas County District Court. Inquiry about the release of a bond should not be made until two business days after the complete end of a case.
These bonds can only be returned to the actual Defendant associated with the bond unless there has been a Bond Assignment filed or a Judge's order stipulating that a different person receives the bond refund.
You can print out a copy of the Bond Assignment form by clicking on the link.
This department also is responsible for disbursing funds paid into the court for court orders, judgments and garnishments for all cases other than Domestic cases.
